About Us
Helping Students Rise, Rebuild, and Reclaim Their Future
Ascend Online School is a dynamic academic recovery and intervention program that serves students in grades 3 through 12 who are off track and need a pathway back to success. Our mission is to close learning gaps, recover credits, and equip students with the academic tools and confidence they need to move forward.
We serve students through a hybrid learning model that blends the flexibility of online instruction with the structure and guidance of face-to-face teaching. Every student in our program benefits from the combined support of a dedicated on-site teacher and an online content teacher who work together to monitor progress, provide instruction, and offer real-time feedback and support.
Who We Serve
- Elementary (Grades 3–5)
Our youngest learners receive targeted support in core subjects:

The goal is to close foundational learning gaps early and prepare students for future success.
- Middle School (Grades 6–8)
Students who have failed a core academic course (Math, Science, Social Studies, English/Language Arts, or Reading) can retake and recover those courses through structured online learning with face-to-face support.
- High School (Grades 9–12)
Ascend Online School offers credit recovery for students who have previously failed essential high school courses. Current offerings include:
- Math: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II

Program Structure & Support
- Hybrid Instructional Model: Each student is supported by both an online and a face-to-face teacher who collaborate to guide instruction, monitor performance, and encourage progress.
- Structured Coursework: Students complete 120 hours of coursework per class, broken into four terms, providing a clear path and checkpoints for academic recovery.
- Study Skills Course: All students are enrolled in a Study Skills course focused on building habits for success — including time management, organization, test-taking, and academic independence.
Enrollment & Eligibility
Ascend Online School is not an open-enrollment program.
- Students must be referred and enrolled by their home school counselor.
- In most cases, the student’s home school serves as the host site for face-to-face support.
- Eligibility is limited to students who have previously attempted and failed a course — Ascend is designed for recovery, not first-time instruction.
